We stock a variety or boom articulating
arms that can be moved around the working area with
ease, Common boom stand applications include a variety
of applications such as circuit board repair, circuit
board inspection, surface mount technology work, electronics
inspection, coin collecting, gemology and gemstone setting,
engraving, and repair and inspection of small parts.
A Boom Stand Microscope consists of
either a trinocular or binocular microscope head mounted
on a long metal arm that extends over the working area.
The trinocular port is used to fit a digital
microscope camera to enable you to capture images
and video of the viewed specimen.
Stereo Boom stand mounted microscopes
come in a large variety of configurations. All are stereoscopes,
meaning they have two microscope eyepieces and give
a 3D stereoscopic view with depth perception. We have
both zoom magnification and fixed magnification microscope
objectives to select from.
We stock both binocular stereo zoom
heads and trinocular heads that have a third vertical
eyetube to enable the fitting of a digital microscope
camera. The zoom is the better choice as it gives a
variable magnification over the full zoom range. The
fixed magnification models typically are turret style
magnification selection and magnification is changed
by turning the objective turret.
We custom build your Stereo Boom Stand
Microscope to your own specifications from a choice
of conventional stand or boom stands available in heavy
double arm stands and single boom microscope stands.
For applications doing microscopic
inspection only, such as quality control inspection
stations for circuit board manufacturing, working distance
is not relevant. For these inspection applications,
a bottom objective barlow reduction lens may not be
needed unless the quality control inspection department
prefers to reduce the magnification.
If one is in the market for a boom
stand microscope, there are different types to consider.
First, consider if one is interested in getting the
trinocular photography port or using a simple binocular
stereo microscope head. Next, the microscopist must
consider if their budget allows them to get a higher
price zoom microscope head or if they can only afford
a fix magnification head. And finally, the type of boom
stand must be considered.
We offer two types of boom stands,
the single arm boom stand is a cost effective option
for longer reach than a standard Stereo
Zoom Trinocular Microscope or Stereo
Zoom Binocular Microscope and the heavy double arm
stand with counter weights for longer reach work.
